Practice Newsletter Spring 2017

As you may have noticed from our banner at the front of the surgery, we have recently been inspected by the Care Quality Commission and have been awarded a rating of outstanding by them. Needless to say we are very proud of this award. The Sentinel Newspaper did an article about our inspection & award, the full article can be found on the surgery website.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) said Ashley Surgery was 'innovative and proactive' in the way it works to improve patients' health, and that feedback from patients about their care was 'consistently positive'.
Some of the stand-out initiatives at the practice include a monthly Walking for Health group, introduced to combat social isolation, a partnership with Age UK North Staffordshire, and the organisation of various community events.
The CQC recently published its glowing report following an inspection of the surgery on November 16.

Practice manager Denise Smith said: "We are delighted to see recognition for the team's work to put patients first.

"We have a very supportive team ethos at Ashley; every member of the team strives to give consistent high quality patient care. Despite all the current pressures on general practice, going the extra mile for our patients, when we can, is the norm for us.
Bernard Bester, chairman of the Ashley Patient Participation Group, said: "I'm absolutely delighted, but I'm not surprised. It's very clearly richly deserved by the staff, doctors, nurses and everyone there who all do a first class job. It's nice for that to be recognised in this way."
